Whitewater has officially opened for what is sure to be another memorable season and this means that getting into the backcountry is now on the radar. We have been blessed with an abundant early season snowpack and the ski touring is quite good these days but we need to ensure we have all the pieces in place so that we are all well equipped. For most this means
that all your gear is in tip-top shape and that your lungs and quads are ready for those long skin track ascents. It should also mean that you have your avi skills freshly tuned and you are prepared to go ski touring with all the required knowledge.
Now is the time to start putting the pieces together early to see what shapes up before you head out. If you find you are a few building blocks shy then consider an avi course? The price is right an the skills are invaluable:
