Many people expected big things after Snovember and have started labelling this month Drycember but I think that is far too harsh. We have just over a week left and I am a firm believer in the law of averages:

> The law of averages is a lay term used to express a belief that outcomes of a random event will "even out".

Following this logic, the next 7 days could be big, very big. Something is brewing and hopefully it arrives just as the fat man in the red suite is putting smiles on the face of every kid in the Kootenays.

So now is the time to get stoked, hyped, excited, amped, pumped and ready. Shake the dust off the quads, break out the guide books and maps, ensure the transceiver batteries are fresh and practice up those backcountry skills as they will surely be put to the test soon. I never get any presents from Santa these days, but I am still excited for Christmas to come this year as I am betting on getting just what I have been hoping for.

Hope you get out in the backcountry this holiday season.

The BSC Team.

I love whitewater with all my heart, and hate to see people discouraged against skiing or snowboarding when the conditions are less then up to WH20 standards. A park line consisting of a couple average sized park jumps (not whistlers superpark or anything) and a few jibs would bring more people to whitewater on a regular basis, not to mention when the sun comes out for more than a few days at wh20 and every bi planker has skinned up for a day of touring. the jib kids are out riding the summit jib line (summit cat track) hoping for any sort of hip or roller into any tiny bit of tranny. I can guaruntee if you do your park up right it will bring in more visitors than you could imagine on down days and the fresh lines that were always there will stay fresh for you and I a little longer.

Dear Daily Shredder, Thanks for the comment! I agree that I also dislike seeing people discouraged when conditions are not typical WH2O standards. We are lucky to have such a snowy mountain and one that feels like a natural terrain park! Our current rail park has limited features so far this season due to the lack of snow over the last couple of weeks. As for terrain park features, such as jumps, we do not offer this and this is for a variety of reasons. One is the lack of use that they receive due to our frequent snowfalls. In conjunction with that is that the frequent snowfalls also make upkeep of the features very labour intensive and they become unsafe with out constant maintenance. Unfortunately (or fortunately! thanks ULLR!) our consistent snowfalls make it not cost effective for us to put our resources into the park as our resources during this period are put towards maintaining the mountain. Later in the season, during extended dry spells, we do plan to increase the number of features. In the meantime, plenty of pow for all! Merry Christmas :-) Rebeckah

"Big resorts can be over priced and over rated. Whitewater is no frills and it more than delivers where it counts, the terrain and the snow....and the overall mountain vibe. Locals are cool, friendly and they shred!"
