Stellar provides custom helicopter skiing the way you dream it should be. With three friends and a guide you will ride powder in both the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges. We have the flexibility to create the perfect ski/boarding adventure for you, from a single powder day to week long epic adventures. Based at the northern end of Kootenay Lake we have efficient access to some of the biggest mountains in the Kootenays. Smaller groups allow you the versatility to ski/board at your own pace, be that ripping fast or savouring the powder turn. The Guide is able to design the ski day to the group's desire, from open alpine bowls and chutes to steep tree skiing. It's all possible within a day at Stellar.
Beautiful Kootenay Lake lies between the powder destination peaks and slopes of the Selkirk and Purcell mountains. These ranges offer distinct terrain and snowpack characteristics. From rocky alpine bowls to pen treeline, we have what every powder skier is looking for. Our terrain stretches over 80 km from the village of Kaslo to the northern end of the tenure. With 79, 000 acres to visit the sky's the limit. We fly with the powerful A-star helicopter, this aircraft allows all skiers to spaciously sit facing forward, able to enjoy the exciting lift to the next powder descent.
