Many people tell us that in addition to the dry deep powder, the varied terrain, the easy access to the backcountry, and the spectacular views, the thing they really love about Whitewater is the friendly, family, community oriented atmosphere.  This feeling comes from the top and filters down throughout the entire company.  Pure, Simple and Real... In the fall of 2008 Whitewater was purchased by Knee Deep Development Corporation. The new owners, Dean Prodan, Andrew Kyle and Mitch Putnam, all based in Calgary, are enthusiastic supporters of Whitewater and fully recognize the importance of Whitewater to the local Nelson economy. The group have hired resort designer, Brent Harley and Associates to review and amend the current Master Development Agreement. The revised plan will be made available for public review once complete. Consideration will be given to the base area improvements, lift placement and real estate development. As avid skiers the group appreciates the uniqueness of the area and will work towards maintaining Whitewater’s culture.   

Knee Deep have appointed a new General Manager, Brian Cusack to join the management team.   A long time Nelson resident, Brian comes with an impressive resume in the ski industry.  Most recently employed as the GM at Castle Mountain, just outside Pincher Creek.

Whitewater continues to gain notoriety in national ski magazines and the ski film scene. Today, skier visits are climbing steadily as skiers and riders search out an alternative to the larger resorts. Master Plan for the future are modest and will only come with skier demand. The ambiance and reputation of Whitewater's charm will be closely guarded.
