Whitewater is Evolving. Here is the Latest Update On What to Expect for This Winter Season.

For those of you that may have missed our News Release about all the changes that are happening at the resort this summer, or for some reason did not receive one of our Membership Newsletters via the lovely Canada Post, we wanted to provide you all with an update from the mountain. With the long list of projects on the mountain, a few guests have asked, "Will this all be ready for this winter?!". The answer is, yes! Everything is on schedule to open for the 2017/2018 winter season. Here is an update on each project:

The New Quad Summit Chairlift

The team at Heliqwest stepped up to the plate and provided us with their KMAX Helicopter to assist with pouring concrete for the towers and top station as you can see in the video above. Thanks gents!  The delivery of the top station to the actual top of the new lift is scheduled for next week, with the towers arriving later this month in preparation for them to be flown into place the beginning of October. The haul rope and quad chairs are scheduled for the middle of October meaning the chair will be on schedule for testing early to mid-November! Remember to high-five the mountain crew for all their work for your new ride up the Blast.

The New Skier Services Lodge & Guest Services Building

Both of the new buildings, the new Skier Services Lodge and the Guest Services building, are up and about to get topped off. Literally. The trusses are up (see the image of the crane in action below) and next week, once the roofs have been added, it will be just finishing touches for the outside and the rest of the work will be inside.  Look at all of that space to rent and repair gear, and look at all the options to buy lift tickets. SO MUCH ROOM!

Day Lodge Renovations

You wouldn't even recognize the lower level of the original day lodge. With the removal of the Snow School, Rentals, and Repairs, and relocation of the Mountain Ops team there is an abundance of space for guests to enjoy the new Snack Bar. Our Retail Ski Shop also has more space, which means even more great products to choose from! This is a picture of what is in the works....

The Glory Lodge

As most of you should know, the food truck is no longer a part of the Whitewater family. The good news is, this space has been closed in to make it an official lodge with seating up to 50 people and a kitchen to serve all our guests that are taking a break from shredding the deep backside pow. We are also waiting for a woodstove from our local supplier Kootenay Woodstoves.
