Avalanche Awareness & Tree Well Safety Days are a great opportunity to spend a day increasing your knowledge and experience with avalanche safety while mingling with like-minded backcountry enthusiasts. Whether you are a total beginner or a snow guru, this is for you.
We will have the following events to promote Avalanche Awareness in our community:
Saturday January 20
10:00am - 12:00pm | Parks Education Session in the base area
10:00am - 2:00pm | Nelson Search & Rescue Show & Tell in the base area
10:00am - 2:00pm | Transceiver Hunt in the meadow
Sunday January 21
10:00am - 11:00am & 1:00pm - 2:00pm | Snow Profile Demo on Upper Powder Keg
11:00am - 11:30am | CARDA Dog demo at the base of the Silver King chair
12:00pm - 1:00pm | Simulated Tree Well Rescue on the Motherlode flats beside the Lower Motherload winch anchor
